At six years old, I lost my mother. Raised by my grandmother in a small Southern town, I learned early that life doesn’t always give you what you deserve—but it does give you the tools to fight for what you desire. For me, that tool was music. From the age of eight, I turned to music as my refuge, my therapist, and my lifeline. As I grew older, music became more than just a hobby. It was my therapist, my confidant, and my source of strength. When I became a single mother at a young age, I leaned on music to get me through sleepless nights, financial struggles, and the overwhelming pressure of raising two sons on my own. Whether I was singing lullabies to my babies or singing at church, music was my constant companion. Today, as a psychiatrist, musician, and mother, I’ve made it my mission to help others find their own path to peace and healing through the power of sound.
